Inevitably, logic (and passion!) convince Baxter of her innocence, and he must protect Charlotte from the deadly adversary determined to destroy them. Even though the identity of the adversary is apparent from the beginning, Quick's powerful characterizations and fascinating tidbits of history blended with fiction ably carry her latest adventure.
